Animation of extreme matriarchal cultures!

For anyone who has not read the eBooks here are the animated versions instead!

Over the past few months I’ve been busy splicing together photos and on-location sketches from our journey to find a place – Where Women Rule! I’ve also added a bit of history and a few special effects to give you a quirky insight into these very real alternative societies, without the hassle of ploughing through an eBook!

Here are some stills from the animation first, and the videos are below:

Mosuo2

Khasi1

Zapotec1

I used Adobe AfterEffects to compile the images and animate the text, and then exported to Adobe Premier Pro to add the audio. It was a bit of a learning curve, but I think it was worth it for the final outcome. You can judge for yourself here:

Next I’m thinking of expanding on some individual stories within the cultures – personal encounters I had with the matriarchs that is – by doodling and painting on some old photos to create, perhaps, more a cartoon strip.

Although I’ve spent a year or so writing these eBooks, I still feel I’m a visual artist at heart. I’m happy to have improved my written English though, it needed it! So, it wasn’t a wasted project. However, I’m looking forward to getting back into doing some painting, drawing and doodling again soon…

Thank you for your interest in our project.
